You do not need to download these videos before you can play them. You will, however, require an adequate internet connection (broadband).

Most of the web videos on this site require that you have 'Flash Video Player' installed on your computer in order to play back properly. If you don't know whether you have flash video player installed or not, try playing one of the videos. If it does not play, you should download Flash Video Player from the adobe website (it's free) and install it on your computer.

Is web video playback stopping & starting?

Web video (flash video) has to load to your computer just ahead of when you play it. If the playback catches up with the loading the playback will stop until there is more of the video loaded. Web video playback will appear to stop and start more when the internet connection is slow.

If web video playback stops, either pause the video and wait for about 10 seconds, begin the video from the start again, or wait until the entire video has loaded and is ready to play. It will then play smoothly.
